My friend, John Coombs, was one of the first people I met when we moved back into the new building at Goodlettsville Middle School. There simply was not a kinder, more caring man anywhere in our beloved city. There was no favor too big or too small, and he was the picture of what Goodlettsville is and should always be. God bless you, John, and your family. I will look forward to seeing you again one day in Heaven!

I never saw John without a big smile on his face. Smitty and I would attend various meetings at City Hall and John would always out and give me a big hug and shake hands with Smitty. The last time I got a hug from him was about a week before he got his promotion to Heaven. It was at Liz’s Kitchen. I told him I’d be praying for him. I’ll miss those smiles and hugs but I know he is in a better place. God bless you Linda, Chris, Kelly, Carolyn, Sue and the grandchildren. I was honored when he asked Smitty and me to work the polls for him during his last election.

SO SORRY TO HEAR OF THE PASSING OF A CHILDHOOD FRIEND. JOHN AND I (MICHAEL ROLL) WERE FRIENDS WHEN HE LIVED IN GREENVILLE. KENTUCKY. WE, ALONG WITH MY TWIN BROTHER, HAD SOME WONDERFUL EXPERIENCES. I HAVE OFTEN WONDERED WHAT HE WAS DOING. RECENTLY, HE CONTACTED ME AND WE WERE ABLE TO HAVE A GREAT CONVERSATION. I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HIS WONDERFUL SMILE AND GREAT POSITIVE ATTITUDE. MAY GOD BLESS EACH OF HIS FAMILY AS THEY TRAVEL THE LONELY ROAD TO RECOVERY. I WILL NEVER FORGET MY CHILDHOOD FRIEND.
