This is to the Family: From raising our children in the same town to coaching in the Pegram Kingston Springs area. I always remember a smile and a laugh that everyone knew it was Wayne. He always looked at the glass as half full. A very postive person surrounded by great children and a beautiful wife. I remember the great times in the Gym and from coaching the children. Matthew and Emily spending the night at my house to my kids at their house. When there was a problem with concession stand or where he was needed he went to make things happen. He was a great man and a very dedicated worker. We made great progress at Pegram Elementary and enjoyed many basketball and baseball games with him and his family. I remember Emily and Matthew best as they were the same age as my children. You had a great Dad and he will be greatly missed! I can still see him pushing a mop before the basketball games at Pegram to make sure the gym was clean. A man I could always depend on. He showed great love for all our children. Beverly and family I am so sorry for your loss as he lives on in our hearts and will lead us in the right direction. We will meet again!!

Our prayers are with the family. Wayne was a very good friend and brother in Vietnam. He will be missed and always remembered by me. I am glad that I was able to get in touch with him and see him at the Charlie Co. reunion. I am sorry that we will not be able to attend the services. We have been out of town and just received the news today.

We are so sorry to hear that Mr. Kelly has passed. He was a good man who always had a joke to tell you. I will never forget his visits to the Club just to check on his boys. He would entertain everyone around and would leave you with a smile. Our love and support will always be here for you.

To the Kelly family, My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of sadness. May God provide you comfort and peace. Wayne always had a smile on his face and lightened up our day with his jokes and his love for Kentucky basketball. He shared his love for his family and friends with us who cared for him daily. Mr. Kelly touched the hearts of many and it was an honor and privilege to know him and the Kelly family. He will be greatly missed. God Bless .

    To Wayne’s Family-
We were so very sorry to learn of Wayne’s passing. To our regret, we will be unable to attend his services. Wayne and I have been like brothers since serving together in Vietnam. I was fortunate to have him as a friend and brother. I was so glad we had been able to keep in touch after the service. We really enjoyed our talks and visits over the years. Beverly, you have always made us feel welcome, like a part of your family. You have been a rock for Wayne and your family. We will keep all of you in our prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Kelly was truly one of my most favorite patients at the VA Hospital. I enjoyed taking care of him, talking and joking with him and getting to know his family. We shared a love for all things UK…especially since I’m from Lexington. Just know that your whole family will be in my thoughts and prayers. He was a special person who loved his family and will be greatly missed on 1A.

It saddened us to hear of Wayne’s passing. Although I did not serve with Wayne, he was one of our Charlie Co. brothers. We will keep him in our prayers.

To the Kelly Family, I am so sad to hear about the passing of Wayne. All my memories of him are positive and enjoyable, and I considered him to be a good friend. It has been my experience over the years that you can tell much about a man by his children, and if that holds true, I know he was proud, because it was always a pleasure to be around all the kids, they are so respectful. While I will miss him and our talks, each time I see one of the kids, I will see a part of him, knowing he lives on in them. My thoughts and prayers will be with you all in the next days, and the years to come. May God bless you all during this difficult time, and lead you forward into a more peaceful time, and Beverly, May he grant you great strength and understanding as you meet the days ahead.

    Beverly and family,
I was 3rd squad leader from Sept. 1970-Feb. 1971. Wayne was in my squad much of the 7 months I was there and was a very reliable and trusted member of the squad. I felt lucky to have him. My deepest condolence to you for your loss. I had the greatest respect for him. My thoughts and prayers are for you in this time of loss. I am sorry that I didn’t get to see him at the reunion the year before I found out about it. I won’t be able to attend the funeral but my thoughts and prayers will be with you. I just got the email this evening. God bless you all.
