My first encounter with Joe was on a hot summer afternoon at Moss Wright Park in Goodlettsville back in the late 1980s?

I was fairly new to running and was amazed at how Joe could talk to me while running a rapid pace on the trails.

Later I became a regular at the Fitness Center gym where I saw Joe regularly working out with weights and maintaining a physique of a man 20 years his junior.

Joe was a humble, positive man who not only made you feel positive with toned-down “attaboy” compliments, but a faithful servant of God who surely “fought a good fight, finished the course, kept the faith”

Joe – I can only imagine how many lives you touched with your kindness…

Dotty and family I am so sorry for your loss.
You were such a special Uncle, more like a brother. The fun times we had (when you pushed me in the creek and shot me with a BB gun). I will miss you very much. I know that Mom, Dad, Maude, Golden, and Travis have already received you in their open arms. Rest in Peace my Brother.

    Love always,

Joe was not only a great uncle but also a fabulous brother. My mother thought he could walk on water. His calm and peace loving personality was one we would all do well to emulate. We always loved him, and we will always miss him.

Joe was the Best Uncle that anyone could have. You were my idol when we were growing up together and also my partner in crime. I have loved you my whole life but I know I will see you again one day in a better place, so hold a spot for me. Love, Mary Ila
