He is survived by his son, Joseph Haden (Emily) Whitson, and their children, Katie Jo and Haden; daughter, Lindsey Whitson (Scotty) West, and their children Bryson and Mallory; sisters, Pam (Doug) Wells, Joyce (JD) Beard, and the mother of his children, Anne Whitson. I just have to make a comment to say what Joe meant to me. Joe was such a good friend to me when I started WHHS in my sophomore year. He was always had a big smile and such a kind person. I will never forget how he along others helped me settle in with the class of 1968. He will be missed but no more pain and suffering. God now has a true angel. Deepest sympathy to the Whitson family.

What wonderful memories I have of Mr Joe. Such a wonderful supporter of ALL things White House. He loved his family and love to work on his home and yard. His visits to the bank were not only business but a place to meet friends and talk about the latest events in the area. He kept everyone updated on White House. Loved our long talks. May God bless his dear family at this time. JRebecca Vanderpool
