Joseph Callan Stern, 31, passed away unexpectedly in Nashville, TN. Born February 8, 1988 in Pittsburgh, PA, he is the son of Steven and Susan (Kinnee) Stern. Callan also leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Kacy (Gieg) Stern; his brother, Ethan Stern; his sister, Rachel Stern; grandmother, Selma Stern; mother-in-law, Karen Gieg; and father-in-law, Michael Sturm. Callan worked as a sales lead for over 10 years at P & E Distributors in Goodlettsville, TN. An avid sports fan who particularly enjoyed cheering on his Pittsburgh Steelers, Callan never met a show on ESPN he didn’t like. He loved trying new restaurants with his wife, working out with his brother, eating ice cream with his sister, and spending time with his two dogs. Ever a hard worker, Callan had a silly side with a great sense of (often twisted) humor. A celebration of life service will be held Sunday at 12 noon at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville. An hour of visitation will precede the service from 11 AM until 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to shatterproof.org

    Susan, Steve, Ethan and Rachel,
So very sorry for your loss of Callan. May love and sweet memories of how Callan’s life touched and enriched yours give some comfort during this very difficult time of grief and mourning. I know of no words to describe the hole in your hearts and spirit but do know that time, a lot of time lessens the acute pain now.

I wish you many blessings for strength and resilience in life ahead, as Callan’s soul joins all of our loved ones who have proceeded him.

May we as a country find the solution to this senseless menace which just brings more and more pain rather than easing it.

I watched Callan grow up through the eyes of his father Steve. Callan would build the trophies for Steve’s events. he would come out and help out. He was an awesome sales guy and would help when he could. Gone way to soon.

I am SO VERY SORRY. I cant imagine what you and Steven are going through. Just wanted you to know how much you two meant to me and how much I appreciated the hard work y’alll put forth to raise wonderful kids right along side of my boys. Can’t wait to see Callan & Evan & Rachel and my boys at same table ‘breaking bread’ on the other side. My sincere & deepest heartfelt condolences.
