John Leonard Humphrey, age 70, of Goodlettsville, passed away suddenly November 27, 2019. He was born in Nashville, TN on November 9, 1949 to the late Alfred and Jeffie Humphrey. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, June Pugh Humphrey; their children, Joanna (Joel) Zimmerle, Jordan (Tiffani) Humphrey, and Joseph Humphrey; grandchildren, Jacob Humphrey, James Humphrey, and Joshua Zimmerle; brothers, Larry (Elaine) Humphrey, and Tom (Teresa) Humphrey. Mr. Humphrey was a veteran in the United States Army, and was recently retired from the State of Tennessee where he was a Systems Administrator. John always placed God first in his life. His love for his family came only after his love of the Lord, and he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved all Vanderbilt Sports and the Tennessee Titans. I worked with John for many years. It was always a joy to see him when he came to our clinic. When I moved to the regional office, we had many great conversations and laughs. John’s love for the Lord and dedication in serving Him was his greatest ambition in this life. John’s love and devotion for his family was so very evident when he talked about them – which was often!
    My prayers to John’s family.

What a sweet kind man John was. He was always such a positive fun man to be around and speak with, when he would come to visit us in Montgomery County to work on our computers, or talk with over the phone. Many prayers of comfort and strength for John’s family. Such a huge loss for his friends and family, but what peacefulness knowing exactly where John is at.
