Today is my birthday and my brother cannot call me like he did every year because of a disease called alcoholism. My brother was an alcoholic and he tried so many times to overcome this demon that had a hold of him. Many loved him and tried to help but couldn’t. He was so precious and I miss him so much. We were so much more than brother and sister, we were friends, very special friends. If anyone should ever read this I want you to know that if you have a loved one that has this same demon tormenting them DO NOT let it rob you of enjoying time with them because I didn’t. I listened to my brother tell me the same thing 4 or 5 times in a conversation and never got mad because I truly loved him unconditionally. I helped him when he stumbled and never got mad, I went through alot, due to living with him for a couple of years and never got mad and I am glad, very glad. I knew he couldn’t help it or he would have. He was kind and soft spirited. He loved me unconditionally and we had a bond that I do not share with my other brothers and sister. Although I love all of them Mark and me were alot alike and we understood each other in ways noone else did. He was awesome and the world is a darker place without him in it. BTW he went by Mark and he would be very upset to know that they put caucasion instead of Native American on his death certificate.:-)
