One of the “Y-B’s”. Jackie was such a likeable person – he always had an outgoing personality. I’m sure he will
    be missed by many.

We’ve just known Jack for a few years when he started attending the annual November Platoon Reunion. Jack was assigned to November Platoon, Company A in Viet Nam and later Recon. He enjoyed our reunions and was planning to attend the next one in Biloxi, MS in May. We will all miss Jack.

Jack was a wonderful man who loved being with his fellow A Co, 1/28th vets. He enjoyed the November Platoon reunions and we all looked forward to seeing him. He struggled with some health issues that were service related and he managed to stick with the often unending, unsatisfying battle with the VA. These last few years he was much more relaxed having been successful in his efforts. He will be greatly missed by his fellow Firebase Gela and November brothers, and their spouses who were able to get to know him. This is truly your “welcome home”, Jack. Godspeed.

Jack, (Yank) and I were friends, buddies, brothers while we served together as part of Recon in Viet Nam. We parted ways when we got out of the service, but I sent him our family Christmas cards every year. About 2 years ago he actually returned a birth announcement that we sent him upon the birth of our first daughter nearly 41 years ago. We only recently started e-mailing each other and I had so hoped to be able to visit him and catch up with him. Yank was I believe a very good man and deserving of better than he got. He will be missed! May God bless him and his family in this time of sorrow. My heartfelt condolences to his family. Sincerely, Bruce Edwards
