On behalf of my mother, Mabel Crump Young, our family extends are heartfelt sympathy in the passing of Ferlin. Mom got to see Ferlin when he visited Leadwood in January. My grandpa was Simon Crump, AKA Simon Crum. How very much my grandpa enjoyed spending time with and listening to Ferlin play his guitar while sitting on his front porch.

Our memories of this Great entertainer are unforgetable. A man who never forgot his roots or the many friends he always will have in Missouri. A true Gentleman and Blessing to many people he didn’t even know. May God continue to bless his family, especially Leona.

Ms. Taylor was, indeed, a legend and inspiration to humanity. Her contribution to AIDS research and awareness made the lives of those suffering with the illness easier. Other celebrities should take a page from her book if they want to endure and be loved and respected for years to come. Thank you Ms. Taylor for your generosity and compassion. We will miss you.

I graduated HS & came to Nashville in 1957. my roommate & I had little money for entertainment and were both country & R&R fans. My sister worked for Nat’l Life Co,who at the time were the owners of WSM radio. she could get us tickets for the GOO, so that was our most popular inexpensive thing to do. We organized the first Jordanaires fan club and hung out w/a lot of the ‘Nashville crowd’. My friend ended up marrying a musician/songwriter/singer. We were both big Ferlin fans. I watched and video taped Ferlin’s last appearance on “The Ralph Emery Show” on the day of his death. It was a re-run from about 2009, and they had added a snipped at the end of the show to announce that he had passed. I was so sad to learn that.
I send my heartfelt sympathy to his family.
He was one of a kind. Thank you Ferlin for being adamant about recording ‘Wings of a Dove’ although you left out the word ‘God’; all of us believers knew whom you were referring to when you said, “He sends down his love…” That is one of my Alltime favorites.
“Go rest High on that mountain” you deserve it!!! That is another favorite!!

When I was a teen ager I would listen to the radio while I did my homework and dream of Ferlin Husky and listen to his music. He had a wonderful voice. I was one of his biggest fans and had a teen ager’s crush on him. RIP Ferlin
