HICKERSON, Linda McKinney- Age 66 years, passed away February 22, 2013, from an extended battle with Leukemia. She retired from Bank of America, and was a member of Harpeth Heights Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, James Earl and Allie Mai McKinney; grandson, Matthew; brother, Jim McKinney. Survived by her husband of 46 years, Hugh Hickerson; children, Eddie Donna Hickerson, Mike Tami Hickerson, and Kathy Hickerson; grandchildren, Emily, Brady, Samuel, Gracie, and Avery; sister in law, Faye McKinney. Linda survived the last two years on the generosity of blood and platelet donors. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the American Red Cross. The Life Celebration service will be today, Sunday, February 24, 2013, at 2pm, at the West Harpeth Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will begin today from 12 noon until the service hour at WEST HARPETH FUNERAL HOME

I hope you remember me from the mid 1970s, I lasted visited you in the mid 1980s but I just saw this announcement about the passing of your wife. Though I never met her or your children, I remember you talking a lot about them many late nights at the Opry house while I edited band music for NPR programming.
You told me to always spend time with family because they come first. I was not married at the time, but I never forgot your words of wisdom or your technical music editing talent along with Scotty Moore’s!. I am sorry for your loss but my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
