TATE, Frank Russell of Nashville on Wednesday March 14, 2007; he was (Age 74). Mr. Tate was born on July 26th, 1932 and passed away at home and went to be with his Heavenly Father. Frank accepted the Lord on March 13th, 1957 and was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. Preceded in death by his parents; Russell and Nellie Tate. Mr. Tate is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Carol Tate and his daughters Kathy Tate and Lisa (Paul) Reed; Brothers Harold(Nancee), Tate and Forest Tate; Sisters, Joanne (Dave) Bowers and Carolyn (Helmut) Bartel. He was a founding board member of Donelson Christian Academy and served as chairman for many years. Mr. Tate worked at the Gideons International for 31 years, traveled extensively throughout the United States and to 32 countries around the world. He served faithfully on several church boards. Mr. Tate has been a member of First Church of the Nazarene for 25 years. Those desiring may make contributions to the Gideons International in memory of Mr. Tate. A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Sunday March 18, 2007 at 2:00 P.M., First Church of the Nazarene, 510 Woodland St., conducted by the Rev. Dr. Gary Allen Henecke, Dr. Millard Reed and Rev. Lynn Casseday. Members of Gideons International will serve as honorary pallbearers as well as Dr. Thomas Davis and Staff. Pallbearers: Bruce Tate, Russ Tate, Scott Bowers, Tad Allen, Brandon Grosjean and Brooks Miller. The family will receive friends in the Main Sanctuary at First Church of the Nazarene on Friday, March 16, 2007 from 2 to 8 P.M. A private interment is scheduled. COLE AND GARRET FUNERAL HOME, 859-5231, is in charge of arrangements.

    Dear Carol and family,
    I have fond memories of Frank. He was a wonderful example of a godly man. Although I have been away for many years, I cherish some wonderful memories from my days at Donelson.

    Carol and family,
    I have nothing but great memories of Frank. Everytime he would see me he always said, “Great Scott!” There is no doubt in my mind that Frank was the great one. He was a great example of what a christian man was supposed to be. May God be with you in the days to come. I am thankful to have known Frank Tate.
