Edward Earl Sloan, age 81 of Goodlettsville. Entered life September 6, 1939, departed on July 2, 2016. Preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Dianne Sloan; his parents, Ms. Jessie Sloan, and Mr. Don Sloan, of Gainsboro, TN.
He is survived by his daughter, Denise Monette Sloan, and precious granddaughter, Madelyn Grace Sloan.

A celebration of life will be on Tuesday July 12 at 6pm at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, with visitation from 2pm until service time.

He was such a kind and loving person. One of my favorite memories is Uncle Earl sitting at a picnic table with a child on either side of him. We was trying to give both of them attention making his head pivot back and forth between the two. He was so cute. This world now has a hole where this gracious southern gentlemen once lived. Just like my heart.

Rest In Peace Earl Slone. You will forever hold a place in my heart. You took good care of my sister, Diane and raised a beautiful daughter, Denise. I’ll never forget your willingness to help me and my children in my darkest hour. Your life is a true testament as to what a man should be.
