Deborah Kim Sohl, the daughter of the late James D. Sohl and Berneice M. Reiners Sohl, was born on December 14, 1955 in Lexington, NE. She was baptized on January 1, 1956 and was confirmed on March 30, 1969 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Concordia, MO. Debbie's confirmation verse was Hebrews 13:5, "Be content with such things as ye have; for He hath said: I will never leave thee nor forsake thee."

Debbie attended St. Paul's College High and graduated from the University of Missouri at Columbia in December 1977 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She was commissioned as an officer in the United States Naval Reserve in April 1978 and served in the Nurse Corps until 1989. She was stationed at Naval Regional Medical Center Bremerton, WA; Naval Hospital Oakland, CA; National Naval Medical Center Bethesda, MD; and Naval Hospital Charleston, SC. She attended the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and received her Masters of Science Degree in Nursing in August 1990. Debbie worked for many years as a clinical specialist in oncology nursing. She attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN and obtained her certification as a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner in August 2006.

Debbie passed away on June 30, 2007 in Mobile, AL at the age of 51 years.

Survivors include her daughter, Anna E. Sohl of Nashville; brother James D. (Alice) Sohl, Jr. of Paducah, KY; and two nieces, Katherine & Caroline.

Funeral Services are being conducted at Cole & Garrett funeral Home in Goodlettsville, TN on Friday, July 6, 2007 at 1pm. Services will also be conducted at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home in Lincoln, NE on Monday, July 9, 2007 at 12:30pm. Interment to follow at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery.

    Anna, your monther was a wonderfu person who loved you deeply. I had the pleasure of knowing her when I lived in Nashville and was going through the process of adopting my daughter from China. I am so sorry for your loss.
