David White, age 68, of Goodlettsville, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2020, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his dearly loved family -- chatting and listening to music. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Virginia White. He is survived by his wife of forty years, Nancy (Guy)White; his children Katherine (Katie) White of Nashville, Kendall White Elsass and husband Noah of Hendersonville, Annie White Williams and husband Joe of Thompsons’ Station; and his grandchildren Henry and Oliver Elsass and Andie Kate Williams. Also surviving is his sister, Jane Larmon White and her daughter Virginia, of Massachusetts. A life-long member of Connell Memorial United Methodist Church and a graduate of Goodlettsville High School, the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and Tennessee State University. He went into business with his father, managing the East Hills Mobile Home Park for more than forty years. His true passion was music and, most recently, playing keyboards with the World Famous Channel Cats. Due to the pandemic, a private family service will be held. In his memory, listen to some good music and smile as he would. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Nature Conservancy to honor his love of all living things.

David and I started 7th grade together at GHS. Graduated in 1970.He was always my friend. A gentleman..soft spoken and never did I hear an unkind word out of his mouth!
I remember when he and a couple of friends started his band…”The World Famous Channel Cats.”

I have fond memories of getting together with friends and going to 3rd and Lindsley and having fun and hearing him play and sing. He experienced great joy with his music.

What a great guy and friend! Always had his family on his mind and spoke of them always! He will be remembered and missed! Rest well my friend. Thank you for the friendship and inspiration and memories! See you again!❤️🎶❤️🎶

What a fine human being. He made our world a better place and I will miss him dearly. Our couple or so phone calls a week since the pandemic began were a welcome escape. We covered a lot of territory. Peace and love to you all. Great photo. Playing me some Chanel Cats tonight. wm

Goodlettsville has lost a pillar of the community. Everyone who had the honor to meet him was blessed by his kind spirit and love of life. He was a southern gentleman in every sense of the word.
