I am so sorry to read of the loss of Mrs. Buttrey. I hold such dear, sweet memories of both Mr. and Mrs. Buttrey. We lived next door to them on American Court. I remember “running away” from home and going to their house. I always wanted his “iced tea”, but he would ask her to get me a glass. We would sit and drink our tea together! You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry to hear about Ms. Nettie. I only found out tonight. I would have come to the funeral. I am James Hay’s granddaughter, Vanessa. My daughter’s loved Ms. Nettie. Morgan never knew my Grandmother, Midge Hay. So she was close to your Mother. I know you know how special a person she was, but we loved her for being PawPaw’s special love. She made him so very happy. She was a very special person. Sorry if I have gone on too much. Vanessa England

I just learned today of Nettie’s passing and would like to express my heart-felt sympathy to the family. I have a pillow Nettie hand-knitted for me that is placed on my bed daily and I will treasure it always!! Peace, love and hope to you all. Nettie was a inspiration and pleasure to know – I will miss her dearly!
