Angela Woodard Black, age 39 of Portland, passed away August 7, 2009. Mrs. Black was a seven year cancer survivor and worked in her beloved profession as a nurse. She is survived by her husband, Bryan Black; son, Kolton Woodard; parents, Bill and Anne Johnson; brother, Chuck Cindy Johnson; niece, Ashley and grand-niece, Ali. Memorial services will be conducted 2 p.m., Sunday, August 9, 2009 in the Hendersonville Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 2 – 6 p.m., Saturday, August 8, 2009 at Hendersonville Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alive Hospice at 1718 Patterson Street, Nashville, TN 37203 or at

    My thoughts and prayers are with all of you . Angela was a very wonderful and loving mother and friend.She always knew how to cheer you up and give that motherly advice she will be missed terribly. I love you Angela!!!

    I just learned of Angela’s passing – I’m so sorry.

    It’s been said that there’s a reason and a time for everything and I have to believe that. Please cherish the short time that you had together, remembering the happiness that she brought into your life.
