Billie Dean Douglas, 91, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021. Born June 4, 1929 in Nashville, TN, She was the daughter of the late Thomas Jackson Tidwell and Bessie Lillian Green Tidwell. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Gilbert Douglas Sr.; a grandson, Gilbert Scott Douglas; and siblings, Thomas Jackson Tidwell, Jr., Johnny Tidwell, Travis Tidwell, Betty Hankins and Margaret Boynton. Billie Dean was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She valued family above all else and was a consummate homemaker and caregiver. A devout Christian she loved her church and had been a member of the East Nashville Free Will Baptist Church for more than 70 years. She loved music and singing and was known for her beautiful voice. Billie Dean also enjoyed cooking and yardwork on the family farm in Goodlettsville. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Gil (Linda) Douglas, Jr., David (Debbie) Douglas, Nat (Joyce) Douglas, and Tim Douglas; her sisters, Mary Lois Brandon, and Pat Moneypenny. She was also “Mawmaw” to her 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. A celebration of life service will be held Monday, February 1st at 12 noon at the First Baptist Church, 613 S. Main St., Goodlettsville, TN followed by interment at Good Springs Cemetery, Pleasant View, TN. Visitation will be held at the church, Monday from 10 am until 12 noon.

    So sorry to hear of the passing of this sweet Christian lady. I knew her and her husband from church. They were an inspirstion to everyone they met. I never saw either of them without a smile on their face. Ms. Billie was the ultimate example of class. She will be missed by many.

    So very sorry to hear about your mother Gil. She was a remarkable woman to her family and so many others whose path she crossed. I know that you all will miss her, but you will hold in your hearts many blessed & wonderful memories of the times and gatherings together. Do not think of this as the end, but the beginning. The beginning of a life pain free and healed, and being with so many loved ones that were in Heaven to great her. What a glorious day that must have been for your mom.     Oh how I I loved our sweet Mrs Billie Dean 💜. I am so happy she is at peace and is with the Lord ! She lived her whole life to reach the greatest goal she set for herself here in this old world ! She went home ! Cant you just hear our Lord saying Well done my good and faithful servant “ ! What a great example she and Gilbert set for all who knew them .     I’m so sorry for your all loss. She was a wonderful sweet lady and was always nice to talk to when I would see her and Mr. Douglas in a restaurant on Sundays.
    Remember all the good times and sweet memories.
    She will be missed dearly.
