Porter was well-loved by his classmates in the Goodlettsville Elementary and High School Class of 1959. I remember him fondly as the manager on the football and other teams. He did this in spite of the disability caused by polio ( I believe). He always had a great spirit and energy.

“We will meet, but we will miss him.
There will be one vacant chair.
We will linger to caress him,
as we breathe our evening prayer.”

I will miss my friend. I long to shake his hand again.
