Anthony Wayne Webster, Sr., 94, of White House, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 17, 2021, on the same property where he was born. Wayne was born October 1, 1926, to the late George Washington Webster and Mary Dorris Webster. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Betty Jean (Hall) Webster; a son, Anthony Wayne Webster, Jr.; a grandson, Dallas Webster; and his three brothers, George, Joe, and Sam. He was part of the first graduating class of the former White House High School in 1944. He later began a career with the United States Air Force, from which he retired in 1972 after more than twenty years of service. Following his retirement, he worked in the private sector as a Lab Tech at Freeman Labs and Miller Medical Group. Wayne’s earthly passions were leather-working, guns, western movies, and horses. He was the “Leather” at Guns & Leather in Greenbrier for many years, until arthritis forced him to lay down his tools. Wayne was a devout Christian, who loved his Lord and was confident in the promises of his faith. He is survived by two sons, William R. “Randy” Webster and his wife Lynda, and Thomas S. “Steve” Webster and his wife Heather; his five grandchildren, Trace, Jessica, Jennifer, Sarah, and Alan; his six great-grandchildren; and extended family and many friends. Visitation will be held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, White House, TN, from 4 to 7 pm on Friday, January 22. A graveside service with military honors will be held for family at Hillcrest Municipal Cemetery, White House, on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society at https://donate3.cancer.org/
