Amanda, we never met, but through Rich, we all got to know you as the miles kept us apart. You made Rich very happy-and your love and affection completed him. ‘Being stationed with Rich many years ago, he always held out till he found his perfect soulmate- and from what we all saw- you were that person. All who know Rich, knows he was never more happier than until he met- and married you. ‘You must have been an awesome spirit, and a wonderful woman. I was fortunate to have known you through Rich. God’s love and protection will always be with you, and with Rich through these seemingly terribly, sad days ahead. The Lord called you home, as He will call us all who believe. Prayers for strength and reassurance will be offered up for the Pope family. Amen.

I never knew Amanda, but I went to school with Rich and have followed them and their life via Facebook. Her passing breaks my heart — but I hope and pray that Rich finds great comfort in knowing that he and Amanda shared something so rare and special and that their sweet memories somehow eases his heartache.

    To Amanda and Rich,
It completely broke my heart when I heard you gained your angel wings. I witnessed both of you going through some of the hardest days of your life’s but somehow you both were able to keep your heads up! Amanda, your one of the strongest women I know, you’ve been through so much but everyday, you still were smiling! I love you both! You always know you’ll have family in Washington state!
My deepest condolences to Amanda’s friends and family. 💕

From the moment I met Amanda at Baptist East Hospital where we worked together in Patient Access, we became friends and remained until she gained her angels wings. God knew to place Amanda in my life and when she met Rich she hit the gold at the end of her rainbow. She was always full of life, she couldn’t help to make you smile even on the lowest point of your life. Amanda will always be in my heart and I will always miss her. We would call each and text each other and share our family stories of what was going on. No matter how busy we was we found a way to talk to each other and stay in contact with each other. I will miss that and her telling and asking me when are you coming for a visit. Little did she know that I was at the point I could come and spend as much time as she wanted me too. But god had other plans, so now she will have to wait till I gain my angel wings. But one day I will see her again and I can hear her say; What took you so long? Rich, Amanda will be missed dearly, my heart breaks and my prayers goes out to you and the family and her other friends. Love you both May God be with at this time.

I was a friend Amanda never needed. I was part of her health care team in Washington. She was dealt a tough deal and yet she was determined and fired up to continue her fight. Her support from her husband was amazing. He was an inspiration to her and her health care team. When you talk about loving and faithful they had it. Some try, some talk but they were an example of a true marriage. They have my respect in so very many ways. If was a privilege to be involved in their lives, and to say I was their friend. I was her friend even though I wish she’d never met me.
