Mae Sorrells Gann passed away on March 31st, 2021 at the age of 87 and will be laid to rest on April 3rd. Mae was a woman who always put others first. She was loved by so many who were fortunate to have had her in their lives. She was born in Madison, TN and married Roy Gann in 1952 and had three children, Brenda Easler, Larry Gann and Penny Luther.
She devoted her time to her family while the children were growing up. As time went by she had always had an interest in the medical field and went into nursing. In her retirement years, she and Roy worked for the Corps of Engineers as park attendants at the Cages Bend campground in Hendersonville, TN. They absolutely loved being part of that community.
She will be missed greatly and will be remembered with love and joy. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Easler and Penny Luther, her seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy Gann and her son Larry Gann.
The service will be for family only, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Cole and Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, is in charge of arrangements.

I’m so sorry to hear of Ms Mae’s passing. My husband and I used to visit Cages Bend Campground frequently during the open season and always camped in space next door to Mae and Roy. We sit around campfire many times and shared great stories. We had the honor of meeting Larry and he teased me because I would park my corvette in front of our 5th wheel camper and he would ask how I pulled that camper with my car. Roy would be out with their dog Lucky and he always had to stop and tell me jokes. At night Mr. Roy would be walking to their camper and sneeze…my husband and I somehow would always hear the word “Houseshoes” when he sneezed . Ms Mae and Mr. Roy always made our camping trips enjoyable. They both were very sweet special people and I never hear the words Cages Bend that I don’t see them both in that booth at the entrance of the park. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. Ms Mae always spoke of her children and grandchildren so just know we send you prayers.

So sorry to hear about your mother. She was a nice lady that always had a smile on her face and friendly to everyone she came in contact with. I know you are going to miss her but she is in a better place with no pain walking down the streets of gold and seeing her family and friends. Jack &Marjorie

(Pretty Lady) Mae was a precious lady. And I thought of her as family. She touched the hearts of many and will be greatly missed. We were blessed to make many great memories working with Mae, Roy at Graham Services/USACOE for 15 years managing the campgrounds. I was blessed to get to share life with her for so many years after. Mae will be greatly missed!
We are praying for all of you. Much love & hugs!
