Alice Key Rager, 77, of Goodlettsville passed away Wednesday January 1, 2020. Born in Goodlettsville, August 16, 1942, Alice was the daughter of the late Samuel L. Key and the late Dorothy (Holland) Key. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Dusty Heath. Alice had retired from retail after more than 20 years of employment with Castner Knott and its successors. During her retirement she enjoyed spending time in Florida during the winters. A simple, sweet and caring woman she exemplified the best characteristics of a true Southern wife and mother. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand mother, she put her family above all else. Married to Glen Rager for 63 years, she was extremely proud of her children all having long and successful marriages as well. In her free time she enjoyed Swedish Weaving, travel and watching “The Young and The Restless” on television. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Glen Rager; her children, Glenda (Tony) Heath, Lisa (Joey) Fisher, Darren (Mitzi) Rager, Brian (Lorrie) Rager; her siblings, Henry (Ruby) Key, Judy (Roy) Ray and Jolie (Gary) Key-Bolotin; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 - 5 PM and Monday from 10 - 11 AM. A Funeral service will be held Monday at 11 AM at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home, Goodlettsville, TN followed by interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Acting as pall bearers will be her grandsons, Dillon Heath, Dalton Heath, Darren Rager and Brian Rager; and her grandsons-in-law, Philip Scheetz and J.D. Coleman.

Mrs. Rager was a mentor to all for her kindness to everyone. She loved her family well. I’ve always admired her friendships with her daughters. I have sat at many ball games with her and Mr. Rager cheering on their grandchildren. Her legacy is her beautiful family who love and think of others, as she did. She had the sweetest smile on earth. Now, she has the glory of The Lord about her. My prayers for strength and peace are with all of her family.

Glen, children and extended family, I am so, so sorry for the passing of such a loved one. I cannot remember when she was not in the Rager family except when we were really young. She loved and was well loved. Me,Doris and Martha are all sick and unable to come and extend our symphony. My brother, Jimmy and his wife Nancy will be there tomorrow for the funeral. We love you and are praying for all of you, that Jesus will carry you and give you His peace.
