AKIN, Peggy Ann "Nana"- age 75 of Hendersonville, went to be with the Lord on February 26, 2013. Peggy was a 1955 graduate of East High School. She was part of the East Eagle Hens who went out every month and had dinner together years after graduation. She was also a woman of faith and was a devoted member of the Hendersonville Church of Christ for many years. Peggy enjoyed life to the fullest and loved her family especially her grandchildren. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend whom will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Allan and Ruby Rutledge; husband, Alfred Ray Akin; She is survived by her daughter, Connie Mundy Mark; grandsons, Blake and Austin Mundy; brother, George Rutledge; nephew, Andrew Rutledge; nieces, Ann Marie Wingo and Tracy Rutledge. The family would like to give a special thanks for all the care and support that Peggy received from her neighbors at Hickory Bay Towers. They would also like to extend a special thanks to all of Peggy's friends who cared for and loved her during her time of sickness. In lieu of flowers as a survivor of breast cancer the family would like to request donations be made in her name to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. A Life Celebration Service will be held on Friday at 2p.m. with Pastor Keith Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4p.m. and 6-8p.m. and again on Friday from 1-2p.m. at HENDERSONVILLE FUNERAL HOME 353 Johnny Cash Pkwy Hendersonville, TN 37075 615 824-3855

    Connie and Family,

    We are so sorry that Aunt Peggy passed away. I know that she is with the Lord and Uncle Alfred, Grandma and Grandpa.

    We have so many wonderful memories of her and will miss her dearly.
