I would like to send my condolences to the Adams family. I am saddened by Spike’s passing. He was a friend of mine from our elementary school days at Julia Green and at Hillsboro High. I had many classes with Spike. I also participated in sports with him. Spike was a great guy who always treated me with great kindness. Some of my most pleasant experiences were playing on the team with Spike, whether we won or lost, he always gave his all. On or off the field, he was always someone you could count on to contribute to the cause. Although, I was not able to have spoken or seen Spike in many many years, his memory to me will always be one of outstanding character. And that goes for the entire Adams family, who I remember fondly. I lived down the street and we all played together and went to school together for many years. I always felt welcome at the home, high on the hill. Spike will be missed by many.

My deepest sympathy to Spike’s family. His 1965 classmates at Hillsboro will remember that Spike was voted Best All Around. That was certainly true in his character, the classroom and athletics.
